During my time in Sydney, I witness several remarkable sunsets. But this one, featuring a double rainbow and glorious golden light, is for the record books.
It’s hard to make out the second rainbow, but one end is clearly visible just over the Opera House.
These photos were all taken at one end of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. I manage to turn my camera away from the rainbow for a moment to watch the vibrant sun descending over the busy freeway.
As the golden light gives way to cerulean blue, I meet up with my friend Matthias (remember him from the Great Ocean Road & Grampians?) and we walk out towards the center of the Harbor Bridge to further admire the city.
Hi Matthias!!
We grab a cheap bite to eat in Darling Harbor and admire the lights.
Matthias is off to Fiji and then back home to Germany. It was fun to see him one last time and share photos from Great Ocean Road (flash drives and laptops accompanied us to dinner). Bon voyage, my friend! And thanks for being game to pose for so many silly photos!
Absolutely spectacular pictures.
Thank you Andy!!
Super photos from a beautiful country !!
Thank you Mr. Wing! Whereabouts in Australia have you visited? It’s such a special place.
Erica, it’s a joy to follow your adventure! I’m living vicariously through you — many new places/experiences and re-living wonderful memories, like Sydney! What a wonderful city. Thank you for sharing your adventures and your spectacular pictures. Safe travels!
Thanks for following along, Sam! Sydney very quickly became one of my favorite cities and the rest of Oz has been impressive as well. This trip has already been more than I could’ve asked for — I am currently in Borneo seeking out elephants and orangutans in the wild! Looking forward to sharing those photos! Thank you for the safe travel wishes!
