Garden of Dreams is an oasis in the middle of lively Kathmandu.
Behind high gated walls lies an open field, fountains, and a charming and colorful array of plants. Admission is only a few dollars. You can spend hours lounging on the lawn or sipping coffee at the on-site cafe.
It’s also a safe haven for randy teenagers. I swear there are young couples making out in every nook of this place.
I visit Garden of Dreams twice during my stay in Kathmandu, and each time I order lunch and coffee at the cafe. I give it two thumbs up.
Doesn’t this look lovely? I don’t manage to snag one of the prime lounging cushions, but there are plenty of other benches that provide a fine place to sit down and read in the sun.
I spot this jerry-rigged swing set and later notice the same kind of play structure in other parts of the countryside.
Garden of Dreams is a very pleasant place to spend an afternoon. Bring a book, grab a coffee, and leave the bustle of Kathmandu behind!
