Miss a post about Botswana? Or perhaps you want to plan your own trip here? I’ve linked to everything I’ve written about the country in this one handy post.
Chobe National Park Game Drive
I keep things pretty upbeat around here but I was disappointed with our sunrise game drive in Chobe National Park, Botswana. Luckily this country has many other highlights in store.
Sunset Cruise on the Chobe River
It’s a stellar evening in Botswana — we spend hours cruising the Chobe River at sunset while spotting elephants, rhinos, and crocodiles in close proximity.
The Okavango Delta is a giant flooded area in Botswana — we ride through marshland in dugout canoes to reach our bush camp. The scenery is spectacular.
It’s our first night in the Delta — following a wildlife walk at sunset, we enjoy a tasty dinner (spinach with peanut butter, anyone?) as the night sky reveals itself.
We’re up at sunrise for another scenic ride in the mekoro (dugout canoe) en route to a wildlife walk. The most fascinating find of the morning is a nearly untouched elephant skeleton.
Tonight’s sunset in the Okavango Delta is a glorious one — we witness the magic from our dugout canoes while floating through reeds and lily pads.
Enjoy these final scenes from the Okavango Delta — a dip in the swimming hole, evening entertainment around the campfire, and goodbye hugs.
Some locations are best showcased by moving images, and the Okavango Delta is one of them. I’ve compiled my best footage from our three-day trip into a short video.
Check out the photo highlights from our visit to a Rhino Sanctuary on our last day in Botswana.
