My friends Allison & Craig got married recently on a vineyard in Temecula, CA and I’ve been meaning to share photos!
This was a super fun weekend — a wide circle of friends came together to rent two houses on the same property, right in the heart of wine country. The houses were named after types of wine:
And THIS is the pool behind one of the houses. Pretty sweet, right?! We lost a few hours getting the hot tub to warm up, but in the end it worked out just fine.
This was around the time of the Super Bloom and sure enough, fields around our houses were covered in flowers:
One of the houses even had this ‘bonus’ room (love nest? I Dream of Genie room? whatever you want to call it…) inside a closet:
We gathered on Friday night for drinks at Blackbird Tavern in Old Town Temecula:
I was a little traumatized when the UConn Women lost in the Final Four that night, snapping their 114 game winning streak(!) in double OT. It’s okay, all good things come to an end, but man… that was rough to watch.
The next day was Allison & Craig’s wedding day — 4/1/17! Since I was still on east coast time, I woke up early and read my book on the patio while sipping coffee. It was bliss. Spotted balloons in the distance, which reminded me of the first time I visited this area 7+ years ago — when Allison and I went on a hot air balloon ride. Awww, full circle.
After breakfast, a group of us walked to a nearby vineyard for wine tasting. I snapped this photo from the driveway of our rental property:
Time for wine tasting!
Afterwards, we walked back to the houses and still had a few hours to relax by the pool before wedding time.
And then we headed to the ceremony!
Allison & Craig got married at Vitagliano Vineyards and Winery at Lake Oak Meadows — it was just a lovely spot.
We clean up nice:
The ceremony…
Ha, someone on the other side of the aisle took this photo and I’m in it! So I snagged it off Facebook:
All of the details were perfect, and the whole wedding / reception ran so smoothly. It was so well produced!
The bride and groom both have ties to the south, so we were treated to some fine southern comfort food for dinner:
Our table poses with the newlyweds:
YOU GUYS… there were three flavors of cake and I made it my mission to try all three. Like, people were on cake watch for me as the various layers came out of the kitchen. My favorite was the almond champagne with blackberry filling.
There was also a s’mores bar. Best Wedding Ever, or Best Wedding Ever?
My friend Naz recently volunteered in Chios, Greece with the same organization I worked with last year — we took a photo together to send to our friends over there:
Laura & Michael pose by the fireplace:
It’s a twin sandwich, with Allison in the middle — there are three sets of identical twins among our friends!
Final dance of the night on the water:
The next morning, a bunch of us stopped at a local diner on our way back to LA:
And I had fried chicken and waffles. I’m not going to lie, they were freaking excellent.
Thanks for sharing your big day with us, Allison & Craig! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
