If you visit Sydney and only have one or two days to see the city, the beach walk from Bondi to Coogee should be very high on your “must see” list — second only to the Opera House and Sydney Harbor.
[Out of curiosity, I just looked on Trip Advisor and this walk is listed as #2 out of #271 attractions in Sydney… and Sydney Harbor is #1. Did I call that or what?!]
I talk a big game. But after living near the ocean my whole life, I am blown away by Bondi Beach. If I’d visited sooner during my trip I would have come back every other day.
This woman is wearing heels in the sand. I’m impressed she’s pulling it off:
Hello boys, can I join in?
Every inch of wall is covered in graffiti. I see an artist adding new material a few photos below.
About a hundred surfers chill in the water, waiting for the next perfect wave.
This pool sits right on the edge of the ocean and occasionally a monster wave washes over the side, disrupting its swimmers.
I bid adieu to Bondi Beach and begin the 6km walk to Coogee Beach.
There are several beaches along the way to Coogee, including Tamarama, Bronte, and Clovelly.
I’m listening to the Kinky Boots original Broadway cast recording. So much fun.
Another seaside pool within striking distance of errant waves:
Real Aussie men play bocce.
It’s a third pool! Must be a trend.
A pretty spot for a break:
And here is Coogee beach, the end of the walk.
From here I hop on a bus back to Sydney’s CBD. What a perfect afternoon.
Psst… if you want to check out photos of my most recent underwater adventures in Borneo, check out this album on Facebook. Turtles, sharks, and Nemos, oh my!
Amazing beaches !!
They were spectacular! Just looking at these photos makes me want to go back right now!
great report, thank you for the publicity.
best regards

Glad you like the post! It’s a great place!
Are those pools public? How interesting! Wonder if there’s any fresh water in there or if it’s all salt water at that point! Again with the gorgeous beaches!!!
haha… People who love Bocce: Aussie guys… and my Grandfather. LOL So funny.
They are public pools! People seemed to just jump in. I suspect you’re right — it must be mostly salt water at this point. Wish I’d brought my swimsuit along!
