The Tokyo Skytree is the tallest structure in Japan and the second tallest in the world, after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. At 2,081 feet, its upper reaches are visible from anywhere in the city (depending on smog, I should add).
I plan my visit to coincide with sunset, hoping for city views in both daylight and darkness.
Tickets run about $20 USD to visit the Skytree Tembo deck at 1,150 feet elevation. It’s an additional $10 USD to visit the Tembo Galleria at 1,475 feet. (I stick with the lower and cheaper level.)
This elevator shoots up over 1,000 feet in about 30 seconds.
There are 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows lining the perimeter of the viewing deck.
Unfortunately sunset is obscured by cloud cover, but I still enjoy photographing Tokyo as the light shifts towards darkness.
Computer screens allow visitors to interact with the Tokyo skyline, learning more about specific structures below.
It just so happens to be October and a Halloween theme is in full effect.
Worth the $20 for a visit. Loved the unparalleled views of Tokyo!
