Fall in New England is a special treat. It never gets old — even life-long residents marvel at the bright leaves on display around October, and I’m no exception.
I shot the following images in my hometown of Wallingford, CT in the fall of 2012.
The Victorian homes in downtown Wallyworld are exceptionally charming, even more so when they’re decked out for a particular holiday like Halloween or Christmas.
I’m on a walk in the center of town with my parents and their adorable pup Bijou:
This is Choate Rosemary Hall, the illustrious college prep school where John F. Kennedy attended in the 1930s. It’s located right in downtown Wallingford.
Apparently this is where the sidewalk ends:
Autumn also brings a plethora of election signage.
A few more photos from Main Street:
For me, this was a weekend trip from Los Angeles and visiting family is always a priority. We had my grandma Trudie over for dinner — it’s so special to spend time with her.
And I visited my cousin El and her husband Pete at their beautiful home near the shore, which they are renovating themselves. A few months later they welcomed a baby boy!
On my last day at home, my parents and I went for a long hike at Tyler Mill trail.
Because it’s hunting season, my parents insist on wearing florescent hats and vests. I make fun of them mercilessly.
They’re pretty cute though, right?
Hope you’ve enjoyed this autumnal stroll down memory lane. Here’s to bright leaves, crisp air, warm beverages, and the three months we get to enjoy them.
