Yesterday I promised “crazy impressive” photos of sunset at Twelve Apostles (the iconic, giant rock formations just off the coast of the Great Ocean Road) and I’m about to deliver. Big time.
Nature sure knows how to put on a show. If there were awards given for natural beauty, tonight’s view would certainly be a contender for “best sunset.”
I’ll let the pictures do the talking. I took some liberties while editing photos in Lightroom so you’ll see some stylistically different shots compared to my usual images.
Enjoy!
I’ll end with a group shot — from L to R: Anna, Thomas, Michelle, Matthias, John, Ayumi, and me.
Whew! Quite an impressive sunset, right?
Tomorrow we’ll wake up early and return for sunrise. It has a lot to live up to…
This post is sponsored by Groovy Grape Getaways, who cater to the adventurous backpacker looking for a fun and informative trip. These photos were taken on the Great Ocean Road & Grampians tour. Opinions, as always, are my own.
Nature is amazing! What beautiful shots!
Thank you Erika! We totally lucked out too — our guide said that not every trip gets a sunset that spectacular. Natured smiled upon us that day!
Great photos. Good luck with the rest of your adventure.
Thank you, Mr. Wing! So glad you found my site. I hope you are well!

Erica, these photos are amazing!!! You have such a good eye! How cool to see this in person.
Thanks Molly!! This remains my favorite sunset of this trip, even four months later. It’s such a beautiful place!
