Last Wednesday, my grandmother celebrated a big milestone: she turned 97 years old. She has been shining her light on the world for almost a century. And how lucky are we that she’s ours — mom to three (+ their spouses), grandma to six (+ their spouses), and great-grandma to five and counting.
In fact, she met her newest great-grandchild on her birthday — what a sweet introduction.
A bunch of family members gathered at her assisted living facility to celebrate with lunch and cake.
We missed those who live several states away and couldn’t make it — you were their in spirit, and we chatted about how much we love each of you!
Here’s Grandma with her three children, plus niece Claire and great-grandson.
Everyone spent the first 30 minutes just chatting — we’re a loud and boisterous group! The energy was catchy and we attracted smiles from other residents passing by. This was the best part of the afternoon, getting to see everyone and share hugs and take photos.
Then we moved into the Pub for lunch.
This was the sweetest:
Four generations in one photos, with birthdays spanning nearly a century!
Family photos time. I love these people and am lucky to call them family.
Cake time!
Card and present time!

We love you so much, Grandma. XOXO!!
