I left you with a cliffhanger yesterday after our horseback riding excursion… what surprise twist happens next?
Kayaking!
If you’ll recall, kayaking is the activity I most wanted to try at Blue Duck Station, but the weather didn’t cooperate. So I’m thrilled at this chance to revive my kayak dream.
We make our way down to the base of the same waterfall we just saw from above. There are a bunch of colorful kayaks waiting for us.
Chad, our Ryan Gosling look-a-like guide, helps us into our kayaks as a farm dog look on. Don’t worry, he gets to come along too.
Soon we are drifting through a fern-covered canyon with mini waterfalls trickling down each side.
This place is like something out of a movie. I’m in tremendous awe for the entire twenty minutes or so we’re on the water.
In addition to resembling one of Hollywood’s hottest actors, Chad is also the dog whisperer. Literally.
Reluctantly, we turn around and head back to the waterfall where we started.
We are happy campers. Surprise kayak trip FTW!
I find that in certain situations video conveys an experience better than photographs, and this may be one of those times. Check out the video footage from our kayak excursion:
Many thanks to Blue Duck Station for hosting my horseback riding and kayak experience! Opinions, as always, are my own.
OMG, absolutely breathtakingly beautiful scenery! Love all the green, like here in Oregon.
Did it smell green and fresh too? : )
It did smell green and fresh! Honestly, it was like something out of a movie. Such beautiful scenery. Lucky you have it in Oregon, too!
Stunning! Much more scenic than Lake Balboa
Thanks Molly!! It’s funny you mention that because I was just thinking about our Lake Balboa kayak days — I follow a blogger who’s training for the Chicago Marathon next month and she posted kayaking photos last week. It reminded me of our “marathon” training sessions running at LA Leggers and then kayaking on the way home. We were so bad ass!! And still are XO!!
