This is more personal than travel-related, but I hope you enjoy the photos! Back to Jordan tomorrow…
On May 3rd, my cousin Lauren married her longtime love Beau at a gorgeous farm in central Massachusetts.
I drive up with my uncle and cousin, stopping for lunch at Woodstar Cafe in charming Northampton.
The wedding is held at Quonquont Farm in Whately, MA. It’s a lovely venue.
The reception will take place in this renovated barn below:
My uncle poses with Terry and her brother John, the proud father of the bride.
My cousin Jay pins a boutineer on his dad’s lapel.
I peek inside the reception area before the ceremony begins to snap photos of this set-up.
How cute is this “pick your seat” with apple varieties? Love it!
Here’s the farm chic decor in full effect. I’m in love with these table settings and wildflower centerpieces.
Check out these wedding favors — jars of homemade jam lovingly made by the bride Lauren and her mom Suzanne. Later on, I trade my cousin Liz for a raspberry rhubarb flavor that disappeared quickly once I got home.
Time for the ceremony!
More gorgeous fresh flowers in mason jars lining the aisle.
Here’s Jay, John, and Terry:
Time for the procession…
Tears! My little cousin Lauren is so grown up and her gown is STUNNING.
“You may kiss the bride…”
This is my favorite photo from the entire day:
So happy!
Next up we enjoy a lovely outdoor cocktail hour while the wedding party disappears for photos.
We move inside and take our seats. Here’s John and Suzanne, the very happy parents of the bride:
CONGRATS Lauren & Beau!!
They dance to Johnny Legend’s “All of Me.”
Dinner is delicious Portuguese food served family-style: a mix of seafood, meat, rice, veggies, and salad. And we started with a yummy kale bacon soup.
A few of the bridesmaids and groomsmen give toasts.
Time to cut the cake… napkins are in place.
Here’s my beautiful cousin Liz and her husband Bill. It feels like we were at their wedding not that long ago… my how time flies! They left the kids (a 3 year old and a 3 month old!) at home with a sitter and it’s a treat to catch up with them over dinner.
Sisters and their husbands!
Lauren and Liz’s hairstylist sits at our table. She did a great job.
Liz and Bill pose with his parents:
And with Liz’s grandma:
Lauren and Beau make the rounds.
The father/daughter and mother/son dance:
A shot of the dessert table: homemade chocolate wedding cake, macaroons, and homemade Portuguese pastries.
Instead of a traditional guest book, there’s a leafless tree in a rustic wood frame. Guests stamp their thumbs on ink pads and press it onto a branch, then add their name underneath the ‘leaf.’ What a lovely reminder of this day and all the people who support Lauren and Beau as they begin married life together.
A wide shot of the restored barn:
Dance party time!
What a perfect wedding day. Thank you for sharing it with us, Lauren & Beau! It is a privilege to be a part of your lives!
XOXO, Erica
