Photos I Didn’t Take – East Africa
Moments fly by our windows on the overland truck — locals go about daily life, children play in schoolyards, teens ride bikes weighed down by bananas. It’s impossible to photograph them all but they live in my memory.
Rwanda is only a few hours away so we take a day trip to glimpse this lush countryside and learn more about its tragic recent past.
It’s a heart-rending but necessary visit — we spend a few hours at the Rwandan genocide museum in Kigali, learning more about the atrocities that took place here merely two decades ago.
