After spending the morning in Emerald Bay, Camp Richardson, and the Tahoe Keys, we ventured across the state line into Nevada. That can only mean one thing: CASINOS.
We aren’t gamblers, but there is a stunning vantage point on the 18th floor of Harrah’s. It was even worth inhaling a few breaths of cigarette smoke (ewww) as we dashed through the casino floor in search of the elevator.
Now off to explore Heavenly Village! It’s charming, and not unlike Aspen or Vail (just a little smaller).
Then out of nowhere I NEEDED FOOD (I blame the elevation). Kelley asked what I wanted to eat and with no hesitation I replied, “Fries.”
The perfect slopeside snack: fries and hot chocolate.
Then a ski parade (not sure what else to call it!) went by.
Kelley and her bump!
Free shuttles run all day between Heavenly ski area and the village, so it was easy to get back to our lodge.
Check out that sunset:
After relaxing with our laptops by the fireplace, we left to indulge in fine dining… err, the local Pizza Hut. It hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing.
Next up: skiing!
